Ablative fractional laser-assisted drug delivery has gained attention as a promising method for enhancing dermal drug absorption and improving therapeutic outcomes in dermatological conditions, particularly for hypertrophic and keloid scars. Solution-phase epitaxy is a versatile method to synthesize functional nanomaterials with customized properties, where supports play a central role as they not only serve as nucleation templates but also greatly affect the local electronic structures. However, developing functional supports remains a great challenge. Herein, inspired by the commonly observed epitaxy of minerals in the natural environment, we report using calcination-modified kaolinite as the support for the epitaxial growth of hexagonal CoO nanoparticles (-CoO NPs), which enables over 40 times higher mass-specific activity toward HO electrochemical activation than the counterpart without the support.

Multipactor, a vacuum discharge under microwave conditions triggered by secondary electron emission (SEE), plays a critical role in managing the power level of microwave devices. In this study, we developed a fluorocarbon-titanium composite film on aluminum by cosputtering polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and titanium via a controlled temperature and sputtering power ratio (RF power for PTFE to DC power for Ti) to suppress the SEE of Al. The evolution of microtopography and chemical composition of the composite film was evaluated.

Seed priming can effectively enhance the plant's ability to withstand stress during subsequent growth and development; however, the role of melatonin-priming in attenuating aluminum (Al) toxicity remain unknown. In this study, 10, 50 and 100 μM melatonin were selected for rice seed priming to investigate the protective effects and potential mechanisms of melatonin against Al toxicity. Al stress inhibited seed germination by induction of abscisic acid (ABA) accumulation and reduction of α-amylase activity.
