Fistulas between the rectum and the bladder have different etiologies, they may be congenital, acquired, or iatrogenic. Symptoms such as pneumaturia, fecaluria, and the passage of urine through the rectum are often alleviated by fecal and urinary diversion. The interposition of a flap of gracilis muscle is a technique that is very successful, but the conventional dissection of this flap involves a very large incision and a worse aesthetic result

Background: Facial palsy (FP) is a widespread condition affecting over 3 million people annually, with a complex etiology requiring tailored, multidisciplinary management. Despite advancements, there remains a lack of reliable, automated tools for objective pre- and postoperative assessment, limiting progress in treatment optimization. This study introduces the AI Research Metrics Model (CAARISMA ® ARMM) to evaluate FP severity and outcomes following microsurgical gracilis muscle transfer.

Proximal gracilis tear is a rare sports-related injury that can easily lead to misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis. Clinical manifestations are dominated by localized pain, tenderness, and dysfunction. Here, we report a therapy of proximal segmental tear of the gracilis and demonstrate its treatment process and clinical outcome.

Purpose: For the athlete, anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture and its surgical management are often a turning point in their career. Success and time to return to sport are essential parameters for athletes and their support staff, so it is critical to understand the prognostic factors influencing return to sport after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). The aim of this study was to determine the influence of hamstring muscle composition on muscle power following ACLR with autogenous hamstring grafts.

Objectives: The goal of facial reanimation for facial palsy is to restore resting facial symmetry and dynamic facial motion that mirrors the opposite side as closely as possible. This study aimed to evaluate the restoration of oral commissure symmetry at rest and during excursion among patients with facial paralysis treated with free muscle transfer.
Methods: This study included 9 patients who underwent facial reanimation with free muscle transfer at Khoula Hospital, Muscat, Oman, from 2019 to 2022.

It is challenging to obtain in vivo or in situ experimental data from human muscles due to the invasive nature of such measurements. As a result, many investigations of human performance, surgery, or skeletal adaptation are necessarily based on musculoskeletal models. The utility of such models will depend on the question being asked and the extent to which the model is sufficiently accurate to address that question.
