Molecular motors are the cornerstone for the maintenance of living systems and mediate almost all fundamental processes involved in cellular trafficking. The intricate mechanisms underlying natural molecular motors have been elucidated in detail, inspiring researchers in various fields to construct artificial systems with multi-domain applications. This review summarises the characteristics of molecular motors, biomimetic approaches for their design and operation, and recent biological applications.

Radiotherapy (RT) is one of the most common treatments for cancer. However, intracellular glutathione (GSH) plays a key role in protecting cancer from radiation damage. Herein, we have developed a platelet membrane biomimetic nanomedicine (PMD) that induces double GSH consumption to enhance tumor radioimmunotherapy.

Percutaneous pancreatic core biopsy is conclusive but challenging due to large-diameter needles, while smaller-diameter needles used in aspiration methods suffer from buckling and clogging. Inspired by the ovipositor of parasitic wasps, which resists buckling through self-propulsion and prevents clogging via friction-based transport, research has led to the integration of these functionalities into multi-segment needle designs or tissue transport system designs. This study aimed to combine these wasp-inspired functionalities into a single biopsy needle by changing the interconnection of the needle segments.

Cancer nanovaccines hold the promise for personalization, precision, and pliability by integrating all the elements essential for effective immune stimulation. An effective immune response requires communication and interplay between antigen-presenting cells (APCs), tumor cells, and immune cells to stimulate, extend, and differentiate antigen-specific and non-specific anti-tumor immune cells. The versatility of nanomedicine can be adapted to deliver both immunoadjuvant payloads and antigens from the key players in immunity (i.

Breast cancer and its lung metastases pose significant threats to women's health worldwide, impacting their quality of life. Although several therapeutic strategies against breast cancer have been developed, they often cause serious side effects due to their high toxicity and low specificity. Therefore, novel therapeutic strategies that offer potent anti-tumor activity with minimal toxicity are urgently needed to combat the threat of breast cancer and lung metastases.
