Objectives: To facilitate the stratification of patients with osteoarthritis (OA) for new treatment development and clinical trial recruitment, we created an automated machine learning (autoML) tool predicting the rapid progression of knee OA over a 2-year period.
Methods: We developed autoML models integrating clinical, biochemical, X-ray and MRI data. Using two data sets within the OA Initiative-the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health OA Biomarker Consortium for training and hold-out validation, and the Pivotal Osteoarthritis Initiative MRI Analyses study for external validation-we employed two distinct definitions of clinical outcomes: Multiclass (categorising OA progression into pain and/or radiographic) and binary.

Introduction: The present study aimed to explore the epidemiologic threats and factors associated with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated mucormycosis (CAM) epidemic that emerged in Egypt during the second COVID-19 wave. The study also aimed to explore the diagnostic features and the role of surgical interventions of CAM on the outcome of the disease in a central referral hospital.
Methodology: The study included 64 CAM patients from a referral hospital for CAM and a similar number of matched controls from COVID-19 patients who did not develop CAM.

Background: Autoimmune hepatitis is a chronic liver disease marked by immune-mediated inflammation, necrosis, and the potential to progress to cirrhosis if not treated. This case report presents a rare and atypical presentation of autoimmune hepatitis in a Nigerian adolescent girl, highlighting diagnostic challenges in resource-limited settings. The case is unique owing to the absence of jaundice, a common symptom of liver dysfunction, and features such as delayed menarche and bilateral leg swelling.

A 57-year-old man with a 3-month history of lower abdominal pain and rectal bleeding with black stools underwent urgent abdominal CT, which revealed an ovoid hyperdense lesion in the ileum in the right iliac fossa. The prime differential was a midgut neuroendocrine tumor. Thus, the patient was referred for a 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT scan, which demonstrated intense activity in this lesion with no evidence of somatostatin receptor expression elsewhere.
