Downy mildew of grapevine is one of the most destructive grapevine diseases worldwide. Nowadays, downy mildew control relies almost exclusively on the use of chemical pesticides, including copper products, which are efficient but controversial due to their environmental toxicity. Natural plant protection products have become important solutions in the quest for the sustainable production of food and pest management. However, most biocontrol agents currently on the market, such as biofungicides or elicitors, have a limited efficacy; thus, they cannot replace chemical compounds in full. Our innovation is a natural active substance, which is a lysate of the amoeba C2c Maky. This active substance is not only able to elicit grapevine defenses, but it also demonstrates direct fungicidal activity against . The efficacy of this new natural substance was demonstrated both in a greenhouse and in a field. The amoeba lysate provided up to 77% protection to grapevine bunches in the field in a natural and safe way.

Aim: Sympathetic overactivation may lead to severe ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) post-myocardial infarction (MI). The superior cervical ganglion (SCG) is an extracardiac sympathetic ganglion which regulates cardiac autonomic tone. We aimed to investigate the characteristics and functional significance of SCG on neuro-cardiac communication post-MI.

Male ICR mice were randomly assigned to one of six groups: a control group, a model group, and four intervention groups comprising the isolate (SS18-50-L and SS18-50-H) and the wild type (GS18-L and GS18-H) strains. The model group and the intervention groups were administered a 3.

Coumarins, a group of naturally occurring compounds, have been reported to demonstrate anticancer potential. These substances, distinguished by their combined benzene and α-pyrone rings, have been demonstrated to impact multiple cellular mechanisms essential for the initiation and advancement of cancer. These agents work in different ways that prevent different tumor cells from growing, spreading, and increasing.

In this study, minced turkey meat samples were subjected to electron-beam irradiation with dosages of 0, 1.5, 3, and 5 kGy, and then microbial (mesophilic and psychrotrophic bacteria), physiochemical (pH, water activity [a], thiobarbituric acid reactive substances [TBARS], and peroxide value [PV]), and sensory (color, odor, texture, and overall acceptability) analyses were performed at 0 and 6 months of freezing storage (-18°C). Results showed that by 5 kGy irradiation and freezing treatments, the counts of psychrotrophic and mesophilic bacteria reduced remarkably ( < 0.
