Cardiac tumors are great imitators in cardiovascular disease. Common clinical presentations include arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, pericardial effusion, pulmonary or systemic embolic disease, valvular dysfunction and constitutional symptoms, such as fever, malaise and weight loss. M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography have simplified diagnosis, but the physician must have a high index of suspicion.

Cardiac involvement in cancer is increasingly important in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients. A thorough cardiovascular evaluation using multimodal imaging is crucial to assess any direct cardiac involvement from oncological disease progression and to determine the cardiovascular risk of patients undergoing oncological therapies. Early detection of cardiac dysfunction, particularly due to cardiotoxicity from chemotherapy or radiotherapy, is essential to establish the disease's overall prognostic impact.

Background: Anthracycline-taxane chemotherapy is the gold standard in high-risk breast cancer (BC), despite the potential risk of congestive heart failure (CHF). A suitable alternative for anthracycline-sparing chemotherapy is through the combination of docetaxel and cyclophosphamide (TC).
Methods: Through a retrospective study of stage I-III HER2-negative BC, using administrative databases, we analyzed a total of 10,634 women treated with adjuvant chemotherapy in Ontario, Canada, between 2009 and 2017.

Background: Zinc finger proteins (ZNFs) have been proved to play important roles in driving the progression of breast cancer (BC), one of the most common cancers among women. This study aimed to investigate the involvement of zinc-finger SWIM domain-containing protein 3 () in promoting BC cell progression by regulating lipid metabolism.
Methods: Differential expression of in BC was confirmed by comparing its expression in normal human mammary epithelial cells and BC cells.

Adult patients with central airway tumors commonly present with dyspnea on exertion. These patients may remain asymptomatic until more than half of the airway diameter is obliterated. Anesthesia for debulking a central airway tumor is challenging.

Background: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGF receptor (VEGFR) inhibitors play a pivotal role in treating various tumors; however, the clinical characteristics and molecular mechanisms of their associated heart failure (HF) remain incompletely understood.
Methods: We investigated the epidemiological characteristics of VEGF or VEGFR inhibitors [VEGF(R)i]-related heart failure (VirHF) using the global pharmacovigilance database Vigibase. The phenotypic features and molecular mechanisms of VirHF were characterized using VEGF(R)i-treated mouse models through a combination of echocardiography, histopathological analysis, and transcriptome sequencing.
