We report a cluster of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae sequence type 101, derived from 1 poultry and 2 clinical samples collected within the setting of a prospective study designed to determine the diversity and migration of ESBL-producing Enterobacterales between humans, foodstuffs, and wastewater.

Background: The impact of community carriage on the influx of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-E) into hospitals remains understudied. In this prospective 2-year single-centre study, we investigate the community ESBL-E influx and trace the colonisation, nosocomial acquisition, transmission, and infection dynamics of ESBL-producing Escherichia coli (ESBL-Ec) in non-ICU wards at a tertiary care hospital.
Methods: This study reports primary and post hoc outcomes of the clinical trial NCT01208519 in which hospitalised patients were screened for rectal carriage of ESBL-E.

This study presents a detailed analysis of 12 multidrug-resistant isolates obtained from the wounds of different patients in one surgical department of a multidisciplinary hospital in Moscow, Russia, using the short- and long-read whole genome sequencing.

We report for the first time whole-genome sequencing of four multidrug-resistant sequence type (ST) 307 recovered from patients in two hospitals in Armenia. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the isolates were closely related, with a maximum of 39 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) differences in the core genome. All Armenian isolates carried the integrative and conjugative element ICE4, which bears the yersiniabactin locus, and shared a common evolutionary origin, diverging around 2005 (95% CI: 1999 to 2011).
