Aim: This study investigated the major factors contributing to the missed diagnosis of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) in fetal echocardiography.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the prenatal ultrasonic images of 32 fetuses with missed diagnoses of TAPVC, compared them with autopsy and postnatal surgical records, and summarized the most likely reasons leading to the missed diagnoses.
Results: We studied a total of 157 fetuses with TAPVC, 32 (20.

Background: Micra™ VR Transcatheter Pacing System (Micra VR) is a single-chamber transcatheter leadless pacemaker. Absence of leads and subcutaneous pocket reduces or completely eliminates the risk of complications associated with the conventional transvenous pacemakers (TVPM). When compared with TVPM, the leadless technology provides a quicker postimplantation recovery and causes less cosmetic concerns/discomfort providing better patient experiences in the long run.

TASK-1 and TASK-3 are pH-sensitive two-pore domain (K2P/KCNK) K channels. Their functional roles make them promising targets for treatment of multiple disorders including sleep apnea, pain, and atrial fibrillation. Mutations in these channels are also associated with neurodevelopmental and hypertensive disorders.

Objective: Uric acid (UA) and obesity are significant risk factors for new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF). Based on the pathogenesis mechanisms of new-onset AF involving obesity and UA, it is possible that UA and weight gain may interact with each other. We investigated the impact of UA and weight gain on new-onset AF using a simple measure of weight change over time, 'weight gain of ≥10 kg after age 20'.

Background: Cardiac high-sensitivity troponin T (hs-cTnT) is linked to the cardioembolic origin, severity, and outcome of acute ischemic stroke. Furthermore, larger brain infarctions are often accompanied by impaired dynamic cerebral autoregulation (dCA), which is also indicative of a poor prognosis.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate whether hs-cTnT levels can serve as a predictor of dCA impairment.
