Collinear phase matching of the Stokes ↔ anti-Stokes interaction for Raman-active crystals with different birefringence was studied theoretically as well as experimentally. It was shown that collinear phase matching of the Stokes ↔ anti-Stokes interaction in low-birefringent crystals can be insensitive to angular mismatch if a phase matching angle is higher than 60. We have developed and experimentally realized an extracavity parametric Raman anti-Stokes laser based on a low-birefringent SrWO. Cyan 507-nm anti-Stokes conversion from green (532 nm) pump radiation of a 5-ns, 1-mJ second harmonic Nd:YAG laser has been obtained. Laser setup with a single beam excitation made it possible to use an output face of the SrWO crystal as an output coupler because of wide (6) angular tolerance of collinear phase matching that resulted in an increase of slope efficiency of anti-Stokes generation higher than 3% at the anti-Stokes energy output of a 10-µJ level.

Importance: Nelonemdaz selectively antagonizes the 2B subunit of the N-methyl-d-aspartate glutamate receptor and scavenges free radical species.
Objective: To evaluate whether nelonemdaz enhances the clinical outcomes of patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing emergent reperfusion therapy.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter double-blind placebo-controlled randomized phase 3 trial (December 25, 2021, to June 30, 2023, in South Korea) recruited patients with acute ischemic stroke who met the following criteria: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score greater than or equal to 8, Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography score greater than or equal to 4, and endovascular thrombectomy within 12 hours after stroke onset.

Background: Larsucosterol is a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor in development for alcohol-associated hepatitis (AH), a disease for which there is no approved therapy.
Methods: In this phase 2b trial, patients with severe AH were randomly assigned 1:1:1 to receive 30 mg or 90 mg of larsucosterol or placebo; a second dose was administered after 72 hours if the patient remained hospitalized. All patients received supportive care as determined by investigators.

Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes, including pregnancy rate, live birth rate, and miscarriage rate between vaginal progesterone Cyclogest suppository and Crinone vaginal progesterone gel as LPS in frozen-thawed embryo transfer in Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) cycles.
Methods: In this comparative retrospective chart review, 283 women who had frozen-thawed embryo transfer were assessed. The patients were divided into two groups based on the route of progesterone administration used as LPS.

Autoimmune diseases (AID) are defined by immune dysregulation characterized by specific humoral and/or cell mediated responses directed against the body's own tissues. Cytokines in particular play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of AID, with proinflammatory cytokines contributing to the initiation and propagation of autoimmune inflammation, whereas anti-inflammatory cytokines facilitate regression of inflammation and recovery from acute phases of the disease. Parallel work by our group evaluating a comprehensive set of pro- and anti-inflammatory serum cytokines in Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) as well as Alopecia areata (AA) uncovered a similar pattern of inheritance specific immune dysregulation in these two distinct autoimmune skin diseases.

The steep temperature gradient near the bottom of the mantle is known to generate a negative correlation between the shear wave velocity ( ) and the depth in most regions of the D″ layer, as detected by seismological observations. However, increasing with depth is observed at the D″ layer beneath Central America, where the Farallon slab sinks, and the origin of this anomaly has not been well constrained. Here, we calculate the thermoelastic constants and obtain the elastic wave velocities of hydrous phase H with various Al contents and cation configurations, which may act as a water carrier to the D″ layer.
