Objective: Translational regulation plays an important role in protein synthesis. Our goal was to screen translation-related factors to improve heterologous protein expression in Pichia pastoris.
Results: Twenty-eight translation-related factors were overexpressed in P. pastoris GS115 expressing enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP). The results showed that overexpression of Bcy1, the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), significantly increased both eGFP expression and cell biomass by 20% under methanol induction for 120 h. Additionally, overexpression of Bcy1 elevated the growth rate by 18% and increased production of the industrial enzyme Phytase (Phy) by 26%. Transcriptome analysis indicated that the overall expression of ribosomal protein genes was significantly downregulated and that postdiauxic shift genes and stress response element genes were upregulated.
Conclusions: Bcy1 regulates ribosome protein genes, postdiauxic shift genes and stress response element genes, leading to improved cell growth and heterologous protein expression. This study provides a convenient and universal factor for heterologous protein production.

The GH secretagogue receptor (GHSR) and the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) are G protein-coupled receptors with critical, yet opposite, roles in regulating energy balance. Interestingly, these receptors are expressed in overlapping brain regions. However, the extent to which they target the same neurons and engage in molecular crosstalk remains unclear.

Background: The heterologous three-dose schedule of the protein subunit anti-COVID-19 SOBERANA®02 and SOBERANA® Plus vaccines has proved its safety, immunogenicity and efficacy in pediatric population, but durability of immunogenicity is not yet dilucidated. This study reports the safety and durability of the humoral and cellular responses in children and adolescents 5-7 months after receiving the heterologous vaccine schedule of SOBERANA® 02 and SOBERANA® Plus.
Methods: Children participating in a phase I/II clinical trial were followed-up for 5-7 months after the last dose.
Introduction: Dozens of vaccines have been approved or authorized internationally in response to the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, covering a range of modalities and routes of delivery. For example, mucosal delivery of vaccines via the intranasal (i.n.

The synthesis of NR takes place on the surface of organelles known as rubber particles, which are found in latex - the cytoplasm of specialized cells known as laticifers. As well as the enzymes directly responsible for NR synthesis, the rubber particles also contain small rubber particle proteins (SRPPs), the most abundant of which are SRPP3, 4 and 5.

Phytochrome-interacting factors (PIFs) belong to a subfamily of the bHLH transcription factor family and play a pivotal role in plant light signal transduction, hormone signal pathways, and the modulation of plant responses to various abiotic stresses. The soybean (Glycine max) is a significant food crop, providing essential oil and nutrients. Additionally, it is a vital industrial raw material and a lucrative cash crop.
