Pituitary stalk lesions are uncommon and are typically identified through pituitary magnetic resonance imaging and screening for causes of diabetes insipidus. Recent literature indicates that pituitary stalk lesions primarily manifest as pituitary stalk interruption syndrome and thickening of the pituitary stalk. The etiology of these lesions is complex and can be divided into major categories: congenital disorders, inflammatory or infectious diseases, and tumors.

The optimal surgical indication for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) remains highly contentious. We aimed to determine the preoperative predictive factors of malignancy and independent prognostic factors in patients with IPMN who underwent curative-intent resection. In this study, 104 patients with a pathological diagnosis of IPMN who underwent curative-intent resection were included.

NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) 1 alpha subcomplex, 4-like 2 (NDUFA4L2) protein is located in the mitochondria and can regulate cell proliferation. Some studies have shown that the high NDUFA4L2 expression is linked with poor prognosis and cancer progression in various patients with cancers. However, the correlation between NDUFA4L2 and pan-cancer is unknown.

Therapeutic decision-making for older patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer highlights the importance of a comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA). This assessment considers the functional status, comorbidities, and relevant conditions of the patient, and allows for an estimation of life expectancy, but it does not facilitate individualized treatment plans. There are also other challenges to consider related to the cardiac toxicity of the treatments and the under-representation of older patients in clinical trials.
