Article Abstract
Phytochemical investigation on the methanolic extract of Mastic by using various chromatographic techniques led to the isolation of 9 compounds. Based on the analysis of spectroscopic data(NMR and MS) and/or comparisons with the data reported in the literature, their structures were elucidated as 3β,8α,13-trihydroxypolypoda-14-methoxy-14-methyl-17,21-diene(1), 4-hydroxymyrtenal(2),3-methyl-6-(prop-1-en-2-yl)cyclohex-3-ene-1, 2-diol(3), 2-oxo-Δ~3-4,5,5-trimethylcyclopentynyl acidic acid(4),(1S,2R,3R,5R)-6,6-dimethyl-4-methylidenebicyclo[3.1.1]-heptane-2,3-diol(5),(4R)-1-methyl-4-(1-hydroxyisopropyl)cyclohexene-6-one(6), 6,6-dimethyl-4-hydroxy[3.1.1]hept-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid(7), 6,6-dimethyl[3.1.1]hept-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid(8), 6,6-dimethyl-4-oxobicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid(9). Compound 1 is a new compound and 2-9 were isolated from this species for the first time. In vitro cytotoxicity assay results indicated that compounds 1, 6 and 7 showed significant inhibitory effects against human lung cancer cell line A549 with IC_(50) values of 20.4, 25.1 and 22.5 μmoL·L~(-1).

Soft actuators are limited by single-mode driving technology, which poses challenges in dealing with complex and multidimensional movements. In this study, a multiresponsive soft actuator was fabricated by integrating a microwrinkling structure into an MXene-based film, enabling programmable motions. To achieve this, we introduced -hexane into the film preparation process and utilized its rapid volatilization to accelerate the shrinkage difference between the film and the substrate.

Precise control of Cas12a activity is essential for the improvement of the detection limit of clinical diagnostics and the minimization of errors. This study addresses the challenge of controlling Cas12a activity, especially in the context of nucleic acid detection where the inherent incompatibility between isothermal amplification and CRISPR reactions complicates accurate diagnostics. An RNA G-quadruplex (RG4) structure at the 5' end of crRNA is introduced to modulate Cas12a activity accurately without the need for chemical modifications.

The primary function of traditional burn dressings is to prevent infection and facilitate tissue repair. To develop voltage-controlled magnetization switching technologies for spintronics applications, a highly (422)-oriented CoFeSi layer on top of the piezoelectric PMN-PT(011) is experimentally demonstrated by inserting a vanadium (V) ultra-thin layer. The strength of the growth-induced magnetic anisotropy of the (422)-oriented CoFeSi layers can be artificially controlled by tuning the thicknesses of the inserted V and the grown CoFeSi layers. As a result, a giant converse magnetoelectric effect (over 10 s m) and a non-volatile binary state at zero electric field are simultaneously achieved in the (422)-oriented CoFeSi/V/PMN-PT(011) multiferroic heterostructure.

In this Letter, a two-term formalism for constructing protein solubility curves in thermal proteome profiling (TPP) is considered, which takes into account the efficiency of the drug-protein binding reaction. When the reaction is incomplete, this results in distortion of the otherwise sigmoidal shape of the curve after drug treatment, which is often observed in experiments. This distortion may be significant enough to disqualify the corresponding protein from the list of drug target candidates, thus negatively affecting the results of TPP data analysis.
