Herein, we discuss the structure-function of biomimetic imidazole-quartet substrates (I-quartets) obtained through the adaptive self-assembly of octyl-ureido-polyol structures in polyamide membranes designed as adsorbents. Molecular dynamics (MD) and well-tempered metadynamics simulations are utilized to examine ion contaminants' adsorption process and dynamic behaviors onto alkylureido-ethylimidazoles with well-defined supramolecular structures. Moreover, the atoms-in-molecules (AIM) analysis identified multiple types of atomic interactions between the contaminant molecules and the substrates.

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are one of the major collection points of microplastics (MPs). The MPs in influents and effluents of WWTPs were assessed for three cities on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea in the winter and spring seasons. The MP removal rate of WWTPs ranged between 71.

Specific migration of 2,2'-oxydiethylamine was tested from a polyamide film in water and was below the limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.015 mg/kg.

In this study, we investigate, for the first time, the abundance, distribution, chemical composition, and exposure of microplastics (MPs) in Indian rice and their impact on human health. The physical and chemical characteristics of MPs were measured using a stereomicroscope, μ-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and μ-Raman spectroscopy. MPs were identified in all samples, with an average abundance of 30.

This report presents the first investigation of microplastic (MP) contamination in the shoreline sediments of Dal Lake, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The MP concentrations ranged from 503 to 3154 MP/kg, with a notable seasonal variation. The highest concentrations of microplastics occurred in the Spring, ranging from 467 to 3445 MP/kg.
