Article Abstract

Antibiotic residues in wastewater have attracted great attention for their potential toxicity to environment. In this work, a zirconium-based metal-organic framework (PCN-777) was synthesized as adsorbent to remove cephalexin from water. Attributed to synergistic effect of the electrostatic interaction and coordination interaction between MOF framework and cephalexin, PCN-777 exhibits a high adsorption capacity of 442.48 mg·g, which is higher than those of reported adsorbents. The adsorption behavior follows Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order model. Besides, this MOF can be reused via a simple method. Therefore, PCN-777 may have a promising potential application for purification of waste water containing trace antibiotics.

One-step adsorptive purification of ethylene (C2H4) from ternary mixture comprising of acetylene (C2H2), ethylene (C2H4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) is a great challenge in the chemical industry. Herein, a microporous metal-organic framework (FJI-H38) has been reported, which possesses a high density of electronegative O/N binding sites and appropriate pore size. Notably, at 0.

The presence of cobalt ions (Co) and radionuclides (Co) in industrial and radioactive effluents pose serious threats to environmental ecosystems and human health. This paper presents the synthesis of dual-functional hydroxyapatite (HAp)-incorporated spherical carbon (SC) composite (HAp/SC) towards the selective adsorption of cobalt from wastewater and the utilization of the Co-adsorbed HAp/SC composite (Co- HAp/SC) as an electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, we prepared a series of HAp/SC composites by varying HAp weight percentages of 10 %, 20 %, 30 %, 40 %, and 50 %.

Traditional photocatalysts often have limited efficiency due to the high recombination rate of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. In this work, we synthesized 3D/2D ZnSe-MXene heterojunctions by an in situ electrostatic self-assembly method. Notably, the 3% MXene-ZnSe composite exhibited an optimized photocatalytic hydrogen production rate of 765.

Microfluidic chips are powerful tools for investigating numerous variables including chemical and physical parameters on protein aggregation. This study investigated the aggregation of bovine serum albumin (BSA) in two different systems: a vial-based static system and a microfluidic chip-based dynamic system in which BSA aggregation was induced successfully. BSA aggregation induced in a microfluidic chip on a timescale of seconds enabled a dynamic investigation of the forces driving the aggregation process.
