We investigate a reconfigurable dielectric metasurface merging optomechanical interaction and quasi-bound states in the continuum promising for all-optical light control light. The surface consists of a dimerized high-contrast grating with a compliant bilayer structure. The optical forces induced by a control light field lead to structural deformations changing the optical response. We discuss requirements for the geometry and optical force distribution to enable an efficient optomechanical coupling, which can be exploited to tune reflectivity, phase and polarization of a beam impinging on the metasurface. Numerical results explore some tunable devices as mirrors, saturable output couplers, phase modulators and retarder plates.

Purpose: The Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Cohort has enrolled over 60,000 children to examine how early environmental factors (broadly defined) are associated with key child health outcomes. The ECHO Cohort may be well-positioned to contribute to our understanding of rural environments and contexts, which has implications for rural health disparities research. The present study examined the outcome of child obesity to not only illustrate the suitability of ECHO Cohort data for these purposes but also determine how various definitions of rural and urban populations impact the presentation of findings and their interpretation.

To understand the mechanism of self-assembly and to predict the evolutionary pattern of the fusion-fission system over a long period of time, studying the dynamics of these processes is of great significance. The trajectories from molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of self-assembly processes contain numerous latent fusion and fission events. To analyze the fusion and fission events from the simulated trajectory, in this article, a dynamic clustering approach was developed by comparing the changes of monomer composition within clusters over simulated time.

Changes to antifungal therapy (AFT) in invasive aspergillosis (IA) may occur due to intolerance, side effects, drug interactions, or lack of response. We describe AFT change patterns in IA patients. This was a US claims data study.

Accurate Rayleigh and Raman scattering cross sections, tensor components, depolarization ratios, and reversal coefficients for all rovibrational transitions within the X1Σg+ ground electronic state of H2 have been calculated. Raman spectra have been generated using these data. A method for calculating Raman scattering cross sections is formulated that is valid below the ionization threshold and in the region containing resonances, which explicitly accounts for all bound and dissociative vibrational levels of the bound intermediate electronic states and approximately accounts for the ionization continuum.

The impact of flood diversion channels on river sediment transport has been rarely reported. This study uses the Yuanshantze flood diversion tunnel (YFDT), which was commissioned in July 2005 in Taiwan, as an example. This study calculates the sediment transport in the Keelung River from 1997 to 2018 by using seasonal rating curves, in the form of aQb.
