It is reported on a 43-year-old patient in whom a mesangio-proliferative glomerulonephritis with nephrotic syndrome was diagnosed 7 months before manifestation of an immunocytoma. Under the treatment of the tumourous disease with chemotherapy and radiation a complete remission of the glomerulonephritis developed. The patient died of a generalized herpes zoster after 2 years 10 months. At the postmortem examination no pathological changes on the kidneys could be proved. After a survey of cases with tumour-associated glomerulonephirits published up to now possible pathogenetic mechanisms and clinical data of the glomerulonephritis as paraneoplastic syndrome are discussed.

Introduction: Glomerular diseases can be associated with solid or hematopoietic malignancies. The prevalence of these associations varies according to the studied glomerular disease. This study aimed to evaluate the frequency and type of neoplasms in patients with glomerular diseases as well as their clinical, laboratory, and histopathological features and the relationship with immunosuppressive therapy.

IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is related to the balance of gut microbiota. However, it is unclear whether changes in the gut microbiota can cause IgAN or attenuate its progression. This study employed IgAN and human microbiota-associated (HMA)-IgAN models to investigate the impact of IgAN on gut microbiota alteration and the mechanisms by which gut microbiota might trigger IgAN.

The simultaneous occurrence of vasculitic glomerulonephritis and membranous nephropathy is unusual. We report two cases that presented to our outpatient department with rapidly progressive renal failure. On evaluation, in one patient, anti-myeloperoxidase (MPO) titers were high, and renal biopsy was suggestive of concurrent necrotizing and diffuse crescentic anti-MPO anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antigen-associated glomerulonephritis with the circumferential cellular crescent formation and membranous glomerulopathy.

Fibrillary and immunotactoid glomerulonephritis represent the pathological entities characterized by structured fibrillary/microtubular deposits, whose identification is possible only by electron microscopy. We report a 46-year-old female who presented with proteinuria 15 years after the onset of psoriasis. Diffuse global glomerulosclerosis pattern was noted on light microscopy.

Complement 3 glomerulonephritis (C3GN) is a rare glomerular disease involving dysregulation of the complement system. We describe our experience using pegcetacoplan, an inhibitor of C3 and its activation fragment, C3b, for treatment-resistant C3GN in a 9-year-old boy referred for evaluation of refractory membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis. Despite treatment with intense immunosuppression (high-dose steroids, mycophenolate mofetil and calcineurin inhibitor), he continued to have high disease activity with low C3 levels (35 mg/dL), hypertension, symptomatic oedema, anaemia, and nephrotic-range proteinuria (e.
