Studies presenting visible-light-induced desulfurization of peptides containing a cysteine residue have been carried out. This transformation driven by light-emitting-diode-type light proceeds with high efficiency in an aqueous solution at room temperature and involves the use of a catalytic amount of photosensitizer, Rose Bengal. The procedure has been tested on model synthetic peptides, lysozyme C and α-crystallin, and successfully applied to a one-pot native chemical ligation (NCL)-desulfurization protocol.

Unlabelled: The characteristics of commercially available thermochromic ink pens have been studied and described since their appearance in 2006. The wide variety of brands and models now available warrants further study using an expanded sample size, to differentiate the general characteristics from specific characteristics. Herein, the ink strokes of 15 pens purchased in the province of Córdoba, Argentina were studied.

The improvements in the survival of certain cancers thanks to these treatments comes at the cost of an increased morbidity and mortality due to certain immune related adverse events (irAE). This review will concentrate on the irAE that more frequently require intensive care unit (ICU) admission.
