Immunologic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a condition that affects four to 18 per 100 000 children every year. In most cases, spontaneous remission occurs, but splenectomy may be proposed. Exploring the site of platelet sequestration can help to better predict potential poor responders to splenectomy, but In-radiolabeled platelet scintigraphy (IPS) can be difficult to perform in children with very few platelets.

In neurovascular settings, including treatment and prevention of ischemic stroke and prevention of thromboembolic complications after percutaneous neurointerventional procedures, dual antiplatelet therapy with a P2Y12 inhibitor and aspirin is the standard of care. Clopidogrel remains the most commonly prescribed P2Y12 inhibitor for neurovascular indications. However, patients carrying CYP2C19 no-function alleles have diminished capacity for inhibition of platelet reactivity due to reduced formation of clopidogrel's active metabolite.

This study evaluates the role of various inflammation indices; systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), lymphocyte-to-platelet ratio (LMR), monocyte-to-platelet ratio (MPR), aggregate systemic inflammation index (AISI), systemic coagulation inflammation index (SCII), and immature granulocyte percentage (IG%) in predicting FGR.
