We present the case of a 63-year-old woman who was operated on laparoscopically with a mesh sewn in at the level of the sacrum, iliac vessels and pubic symphysis. And covered with a peritoneal flap above the urinary bladder.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of laparoscopic sigmoid extraperitoneal colostomy combined with pelvic peritoneal closure in abdominoperineal resection for low rectal cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 162 patients with low rectal cancer, who underwent laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection from January 2015 to January 2019 at the Affiliated Peace Hospital of Changzhi Medical College. Extraperitoneal stoma construction was performed in 98 patients (study group), while 64 patients (control group) underwent the procedure without suturing the pelvic peritoneum.
Objective: To identify risk factors for recurrence and surgical site infection (SSI) after perineal hernia repair surgery in dogs.
Methods: Medical records of male dogs undergoing perineal herniorrhaphy from 2008 to 2023 at a single institution were retrospectively reviewed. Data pertinent to patient signalment, surgical repair methods, risk factors for SSI, and risk factors for recurrence were collected.
This study aims to mine and analyze adverse events (AEs) of Vedolizumab based on the FAERS database to better understand its safety and potential risks in the real world. Data from the second quarter of 2014 to the third quarter of 2023 were collected, employing various signal mining methods such as Reporting Odds Ratio (ROR), Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR), Bayesian Confidence Propagation Neural Network (BCPNN), and Empirical Bayesian Geometric Mean (EBGM). The study gathered 14,753,012 reports of AEs, of which 46,726 were related to Vedolizumab.

Colostomy aims to temporarily or permanently divert the gastrointestinal tract but it is not commonly performed in veterinary medicine.
