Objectives: To study the significance of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25-(OH)D] level in the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of children with immunoglobulin A vasculitis nephritis (IgAVN).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of children with IgAVN who underwent renal biopsy at Suzhou Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University and Jinling Hospital of the Medical School of Nanjing University from June 2015 to June 2020. Based on serum 25-(OH)D level, the patients were divided into a normal group and a lower group.

Introduction: Pseudotumors are benign lesions which may mimic like a malignant tumor on conventional imaging. They are formed in kidneys which are scarred and deformed by chronic pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, trauma or infarction. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is characterised by significant genetic heterogeneity, which has diagnostic and prognostic implications. Very limited evidence is available regarding DNA methylation heterogeneity. We therefore generate sequence level DNA methylation data on 136 multi-region tumour and normal kidney tissue from 18 ccRCC patients, along with matched whole exome sequencing (85 samples) and gene expression (47 samples) data on a subset of samples.

Advancements in microbiome research reveal its impact on cancer treatment outcomes, particularly in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). While immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have improved survival in metastatic RCC, composition of the gut microbiome has the potential to influence their efficacy. Antibiotic-induced microbiome disruptions correlate with diminished outcomes, while strains such as Akkermansia muciniphila, Clostridium butyricum, and others enhance immune responses and progression-free survival.
