Missouri is a national leader in telemedicine, and the Missouri Telehealth Network has led operational, legal and regulatory, and research and evaluation efforts since 1994. Telehealth and telemedicine have the potential to increase access to and efficiency of healthcare delivery, improve quality, and improve patient outcomes. Coverage and reimbursement rules vary by regulator, and Missouri enjoys a broad statutory definition of telehealth coverage and reimbursement parity (no distinction between in-person and telehealth services).

Background: Among cardiovascular diseases, adult patients with congenital heart disease represent a population that has been continuously increasing, which is mainly due to improvement of the pathophysiological framing, including the development of surgical and reanimation techniques. However, approximately 20% of these patients will require surgery in adulthood and 40% of these cases will necessitate reintervention for residual defects or sequelae of childhood surgery. In this field, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) in the postsurgical phase has an important impact on the patient by improving psychophysical and clinical recovery in reducing fatigue and dyspnea to ultimately increase survival.

Patient overcrowding in emergency departments (ED) impact quality of care by increasing length of stay which often leads to delayed patient dispositions. Emergency Department Observation Units (EDOUs) are protocol driven units staffed by ED providers that can alleviate overcrowding concerns and accommodate patients that require further diagnostics for a final disposition. Virtual rounding on EDOUs can be leveraged to maximize provider shortages and increase access to quality care.

Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) services are increasingly using alternative programme delivery modes, for example telerehabilitation strategies including videoconferencing, to improve patient choice and accessibility. Although telerehabilitation results in improvements in core outcomes, the effect on knowledge attainment is not known. To observe the real-world responses of patients choosing to undergo videoconference PR to a matched control group choosing to undergo in-person PR, in terms of knowledge attainment.

Background: With the rising global burden of chronic diseases, traditional health management models are encountering significant challenges. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into chronic disease management has enhanced patient care efficiency, optimized treatment strategies, and reduced healthcare costs, providing innovative solutions in this field. However, current research remains fragmented and lacks systematic, comprehensive analysis.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility of remotely providing routine ultrasound (US) examinations to patients using a fifth-generation-based robot-assisted tele-ultrasonography (RATU) system in a real-world setting.
Methods: Between September 2020 and May 2021, we conducted a prospective and large-scale study using the RATU system to provide US examinations for patients on a limited-source island locate. An on-site radiologist on the island performed US examinations, which served as the reference diagnosis.
