We present a rare case of a paediatric laryngeal granular cell tumour (GCT) of the vocal cord. GCTs are rare clinical entities, thought to arise from Schwann cells. There are only a handful of paediatric laryngeal GCTs in the literature, and therefore, little is known regarding their natural history or preferred management strategies. In this case report, we discuss the incidence, aetiopathogenesis, presentation and management of a laryngeal GCT in an 11-year-old girl, who presented with dysphonia. We believe that this case will aid otolaryngologists in the management of paediatric patients with the common dysphonia.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the histological and ultrastructural features of the elastic cartilage at the tip of the vocal process in the arytenoid cartilage, which is essential for laryngeal biomechanics.
Methods: Five larynges, including the vocal folds and epiglottis, were examined using transmission electron microscopy. The elastic cartilage at the tip of the vocal process was compared to the epiglottic cartilage within the same larynx to elucidate structural differences.

Background: No standardized method has yet been established for evaluating airway mucosal aberrancies associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or chronic bronchitis (CB). While goblet cell hyperplasia (GCH) is an established pathognomonic hallmark of the CB disease process, no standardized method exists for acquiring mucosal biopsies and assessing morphologic airway mucosa alterations. Additionally, the impacts from interventions targeting the airway mucosa are not well defined.

Introduction And Importance: Oncocytic cysts are benign lesions seldom found in the region of the larynx. The phenomenon leading to their appearance is currently not well known but could be linked with aging and smoking. This article describes the case of a patient in whom a laryngeal oncocytic cyst was found.

Granular cell tumors (GCTs) are uncommon neoplasms, often originating from Schwann cells, with granular cytoplasm being a hallmark feature. Laryngeal GCTs, comprising 3% to 10% of cases, present diagnostic challenges due to their resemblance to squamous cell carcinoma. We present a case of a 46-year-old male with throat pain, diagnosed with a laryngeal GCT.
