A decoction of Plumeria rubra flowers has been used traditionally for the treatment of diabetes in China and Mexico. Chemical investigations on the bioactive constituents of these flowers led to the isolation of 30 compounds, including the four new compounds, one iridoiod (1), two triterpenoids (4, 5), and a long-chain δ-lactone (16). In addition, 26 known compounds (2, 3, 6-15, 17-30) are also reported. All of these compounds were identified on the basis of spectroscopic data interpretation and the absolute configurations of compound 4, 5, 16 were determined by Mosher's method. Compounds 1-4, 7, 8 and 16 showed moderate to significant inhibitory activities against α-glucosidase and protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B, with 4 having IC values of 19.45 μM and 0.21 μM, respectively.

Introduction: Despite progress in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) treatment, challenges persist in medication adherence due to side effects and costs. Precision nutrition, particularly adjusting fatty acid intake, offers a cost-effective strategy for enhancing SLE management. Prior research, including our own, indicates that increased consumption of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) correlates with improved outcomes in SLE patients.

Ferroptosis and sonodynamic therapy (SDT) are both promising therapeutic modalities, but their clinical application remains challenging due to the hypoxic tumor microenvironment and limited supply of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Developing an agent with oxygen-enhanced SDT and increased ferroptosis sensitivity is crucial for advancing tumor therapy. In this study, catalase (Cat) and Acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4 (ACSL4) highly expressed 4T1 cells were constructed lentivirus transfection.

In solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (ssNMR) spectroscopy, fast magic angle spinning (MAS) is a potent technique that efficiently reduces line broadening and makes it possible to probe structural details of biological systems in high resolution. However, its utilization in studying complex heterogeneous biomaterials such as bone in their native state has been limited. The present study has demonstrated the feasibility of acquiring two-dimensional (2D) H-H correlation spectra for native bone using multiple-quantum/single-quantum correlation experiments (MQ/SQ) at fast MAS (70 kHz).

The potential of insects as alternative ingredients in animal feeds is well-established. However, limited information is available on the use of insect oils as alternative lipid sources in aquafeeds. To address this, a study was conducted on gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) juveniles to evaluate the effects of including black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae oil (HIO).

In this work CS-SDAEM polymer brushes with long-chain structure were synthesized, and TiO/CS-SDAEM nanoparticles were prepared by modifying them on the TiO surface. The prepared modified membrane can effectively degrade dyes through photocatalysis and can reduce the contamination rate of the membrane during use. The separation membrane achieves efficient removal of contamination by self-cleaning.
