An integrated Urgent Dental Care Centre with Tier 2 Oral Surgery support was set up in Blackpool starting 24 March 2020. This was in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first month 1433 patients had telephone consultations and 713 extractions were performed. The challenges surrounding set up and continuity of care are discussed.

Renal osteodystrophy is commonly seen in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) due to disrupted mineral homeostasis. Given the impaired renal function in these patients, common anti-resorptive agents, including bisphosphonates, must be used with caution or even contraindicated.
