Background: Crown cementation is a common technique for implant-supported prosthodontics. However, for possible slipping of the cement below the mucosal margin, its thorough removal poses some issues. The objective of this study was to evaluate the presence of submucosal cement residues in patients with peri-implant disease by endoscopic visualization and to investigate the potential correlation between the pathological scenario and the spatial position of cement residues.

Background: The balance of redox states is crucial for maintaining physiological homeostasis. For decades, the focus has been mainly on the concept of oxidative stress, which is involved in the mechanism of almost all diseases. Massive pulmonary embolism (PE) is a life threatening condition with age-related escalation in prevalence. Acute PE is a common and sometimes fatal disease. The approach to the evaluation should be efficient while simultaneously avoiding the risks of unnecessary testing so that therapy can be promptly initiated and potential morbidity and mortality avoided.

Polysaccharides such as sodium alginate, pectin and gellan gum are widely used biomaterials, for their ability to easily form hydrogels in the presence of divalent metal ions, such as calcium - a process often cited as a mild crosslinking mechanism. However, when using these materials as substrates for tissue engineering, there is a lack of extensive studies that investigate the impact of elevated calcium concentrations on cell health and behaviour. In this study, we performed an in-depth exploration to understand the potential effects of raising extracellular CaCl on cell viability, proliferation, morphology and migration.
