Multifocal attention is the ability to simultaneously attend to multiple objects, and is critical for typical functioning. Although adults are able to use multifocal attention, little is known about the development of this ability. In two experiments, we investigated multifocal attention in 6-8-year-old children and adults using a child-friendly, computerized multiple object tracking task designed to encourage the use of multifocal attention. We also investigated whether multifocal attention in children is deployed independently across left and right hemifields of vision, as in adults. Our results suggest that children's capacity for multifocal attention increases significantly across middle childhood. We also found evidence that at least one signature of hemifield-independent multifocal attention, the bilateral field advantage, can be observed in children. Background: Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is characterized by severe headaches, often thunderclap headaches, and a multifocal constriction of the cerebral arteries. Although RCVS can occur spontaneously, some cases occur after exposure to drugs. We describe the first case of RCVS in which methylphenidate, a drug with vasoconstrictive properties, is the only suspected drug.

The prevalence of cardiovascular disease, tumors, and other chronic illnesses has been steadily rising in recent years. Researchers have recently been employing cross-modal large-scale models and natural language generation models to address the significant visual and textual disparities in medical report generation tasks. However, these training processes presents challenges, such as difficulties matching cross-modal information and generating specialized medical terminology.

Background: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common malignant tumor of the thyroid gland, with lymph node metastasis significantly affecting patient prognosis. In recent years, body mass index (BMI) has garnered widespread attention as a potential factor influencing cancer development. This study aimed to explore the relationship between BMI and lymph node metastasis in patients with PTC, particularly focusing on the risk of metastasis in the lateral and central neck compartments.
