Immunologic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a condition that affects four to 18 per 100 000 children every year. In most cases, spontaneous remission occurs, but splenectomy may be proposed. Exploring the site of platelet sequestration can help to better predict potential poor responders to splenectomy, but In-radiolabeled platelet scintigraphy (IPS) can be difficult to perform in children with very few platelets.

Neonatal peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVCs) can be difficult to insert, often requiring multiple attempts, with each attempt causing pain and delaying treatment. The aim of this study was describe the clinical characteristics of neonates requiring multiple PIVCs during hospitalization. A secondary case series of neonates requiring three or more PIVCs during their admission were identified from a cohort admitted to an Australian Neonatal Unit between October 2020 and February 2021.

: With the rapid development of the accumulation of large-scale multiomics data sets, integrating various omics data to provide a thorough study from multiple perspectives can significantly provide stronger support for precise treatment of diseases. However, due to the complexity of multiomics data, issues of feature redundancy and noise often do not receive sufficient attention when processing high-dimensional data. Moreover, simple concatenation strategies may overlook the correlations between different omics data, failing to effectively capture the unique information inherent in multiomics data.

Background: Short peripheral catheter (SPC) placement is a routine invasive procedure in clinical settings that is crucial for administering fluids, medications, or blood components. Approximately 11% of adult patients arriving at the Emergency Department (ED) experience difficulties with intravenous access (DIVA), necessitating advanced techniques for successful placement. The Enhanced Adult DIVA (EA-DIVA) score serves as a validated tool to promptly identify patients with DIVA.

Introduction: Many interventional strategies are commonly used to treat chronic low back pain (CLBP), though few are specifically intended to target the distinct underlying pathomechanisms causing low back pain. Restorative neurostimulation has been suggested as a specific treatment for mechanical CLBP resulting from multifidus dysfunction. In this randomized controlled trial, we report outcomes from a cohort of patients with CLBP associated with multifidus dysfunction treated with restorative neurostimulation compared to those randomized to a control group receiving optimal medical management (OMM) over 1 year.
