Purpose: We aimed to describe the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of adnexal torsion, additional radiological findings and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) measurements of the affected and non-affected ovaries.
Methods: We retrospectively examined the MRI of 34 torsed adnexa of 34 cases. We specifically examined the peripherally displaced follicle sign, stromal edema, lack of stromal contrast enhancement, follicular rim sign, T2 hypointense rim sign, uterine deviation, adnexal displacement, whirlpool sign, T2 hypointense dot sign, and tubal thickening.

Endometriosis is a common crippling disease in women of reproductive age. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is considered the cornerstone radiological technique for both the diagnosis and management of endometriosis. While its sensitivity, especially in deep infiltrating endometriosis, is superior to that of ultrasonography, many sources of false-positive results exist, leading to a lack of specificity.

Endometriosis, a common chronic inflammatory disease in female of reproductive age, is closely related to patient symptoms and fertility. Because of its high contrast resolution and objectivity, MRI can contribute to the early and accurate diagnosis of ovarian endometriotic cysts and deeply infiltrating endometriosis without the need for any invasive procedure or radiation exposure. The ovaries, which are the most frequent site of endometriosis, can be afflicted by multiple related conditions and diseases.

Purpose: We aimed to describe "T2-hypointense dot sign" for the diagnosis of ovarian torsion and compare its diagnostic capability with whirlpool sign.
Methods: Pelvic MRIs of 31 patients with surgically proven ovarian torsion were used for the analysis. The control group was comprised of 30 patients with adnexal neoplasm and 15 patients with tubo-ovarian abscess.
