Percutaneous thermal ablation has proven to be safe and effective in the management of patients with spinal tumors. Such treatment is currently proposed following the decision of a multidisciplinary tumor board to patients with small painful benign tumors such as osteoid osteoma or osteoblastoma, as well as carefully selected patients presenting with spinal metastases. In both scenarios, in order to provide a clinically effective procedure, ablation is often tailored to the specific patients' clinical needs and features of the target tumor. In this review, we present the most common clinical contexts in which spine ablation may be proposed. We scrutinize technical aspects and challenges that may be encountered during the procedure, as well as offering insight on follow-up and expected outcomes.

: This study aims to retrospectively detect associations with postoperative complications in spinal surgeries during the hospitalization period using standardized, single-center data to validate a method for complication detection and discuss the potential future use of generated data. : Data were generated in 2006-2019 from a standardized, weekly complications conference reviewing all neurosurgical operations at the University Hospital Luebeck. Paper-based data were recorded in a standardized manner during the conference and transferred with a time delay of one week into a proprietary complication register.

This study investigates the potential utility of SSTR2-targeted theranostics in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: SSTR2 expression in HCC cell lines and clinical samples was evaluated using qRT-PCR, Western blot analysis, and a public dataset.

Introduction: the indication for total vertebrectomy in single vertebral metastases is increasingly questioned, especially in metastases with unknown primary tumour.
Material And Methods: in this article we describe a case of vertebral metastasis of unknown primary tumour treated by total vertebrectomy, and a review of the literature.
Results: in those patients with a good general condition, single vertebral metastases and no involvement of internal organs, as in our case, curative surgical treatment can be considered with total vertebrectomy being the treatment of choice in lesions that only affect the body of the vertebra.

Central nervous system (CNS) repair after injury is a challenging process limited by inflammation and neuronal apoptosis. This study identifies Wilms' tumor 1-associating protein (WTAP) as a pivotal regulator of neuronal protection and repair through m6A methylation of STAT3 mRNA. By employing spinal cord injury (SCI) as a representative model of CNS injury, transcriptomic analyses reveal WTAP as a key mediator of pathways related to neuronal autophagy and inflammation regulation.
