This case report describes a 43-year-old woman with polycystic renal disease and cyst infection. Infected cysts of the left kidney were successfully localized with Ga-67 citrate SPECT imaging and CT. Other imaging, including planar gallium imaging, was helpful diagnostically, but could not determine the exact location of infection within the kidney.

Introduction: The prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases has significantly increased, necessitating a deeper understanding of their symptoms, diagnostic processes, and prevention strategies. Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) are two prominent neurodegenerative conditions that present diagnostic challenges due to overlapping symptoms. To address these challenges, experts utilize a range of imaging techniques, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), functional MRI (fMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT).

Background: Dopamine transporter (I-FP-CIT) single-photon emission tomography (SPECT) and I-meta-iodobenzylguanidine (I-MIBG) image play roles as indicative biomarkers in diagnosing patients with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). Brain- and body-first subtypes of DLB were hypothesized implying that subset of DLB may have normal I-FP-CIT or I-MIBG results, respectively. The purpose of this study was to explore the diagnostic sensitivity of two combination imaging modalities (I-FP-CIT SPECT and I-MIBG image) in patients with DLB and examine the clinical difference between brain- and body-first subtype.

Background: In daily clinical practice, we often encounter cases with atypical symptoms and imaging findings, even among those diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Amyloid PET and cerebrospinal fluid examinations were performed in such non-typical cases and young cases.

Method: A total of 85 patients underwent both amyloid PET and cerebrospinal fluid examinations.

Background: In 2020, five Italian scientific societies issued diagnostic recommendations to improve the rational and combined use of biomarkers in the clinical practice of Italian memory clinics (Boccardi et al., 2020). The present project will aim to compare the most frequent diagnostic workups in three academic memory clinics before (pre-recommendations: January 2018 - December 2019) and after (post-recommendations: October 2022 - October 2023) the release of the recommendations to assess their implementation in clinical routine.
