Purpose: We aimed to determine the volume of the thyroid gland in full-term neonates born to hypothyroid mothers as compared with full-term infants born to healthy mothers and to investigate the association between levothyroxine doses and the thyroid volume of neonates.
Materials And Methods: This is single center prospective observational study of 245 full-term neonates (96 from hypothyroid and 149 from healthy mothers). Ultrasound examination in both longitudinal and transverse projections was used to calculate the thyroid volume applying the ellipsoid formula.
Results: Median (interquartile range) thyroid volume of newborns from hypothyroid mothers was significantly smaller compared to the control group with regard to the total thyroid volume and the left lobe (p < 0.05). We found no statistically significant difference for the right lobe (p > 0.05) and inverse correlation between the thyroid volume and levothyroxine doses taken by mothers.
Conclusion: Results of the present study indicate that maternal thyroid hormone levels may interfere with the fetal hypothalamic-pituitary axis.

The unprecedented technical and technological evolution in thyroid surgery has labelled it as an extremely safe and efficient procedure, and indeed "typifies perhaps better than any other operation the supreme triumph of the surgeon's art."-William Halsted, 1852-1922. Surgeon's experience reflected by annual case load is the most important denominator in thyroid surgery.

However, the reported incidence of lymphoedema varies, and its risk factors remain underexplored. Currently, a well-established risk prediction model is still lacking.

Integrin antagonist complex (IAC), a novel αvβ3 integrin antagonist peptidomimetic, has emerged as a promising agent for molecular imaging of tumor angiogenesis. This study evaluates the biodistribution and clinical efficacy of [Ga]Ga-DOTAGA-IAC PET/CT in detecting radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid carcinoma (RAIR-DTC), comparing its diagnostic performance with [F]F-FDG PET/CT. In this prospective pilot study, RAIR-DTC patients underwent whole-body imaging with [F] F-FDG PET/CT, followed by [Ga]Ga-DOTAGA-IAC PET/CT.

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation (MWA) for treating cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) from papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).
Methods: Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched for studies on the efficacy and safety of thermal ablations for treating CLNM from PTC until July 2024. Among 544 papers, 11 articles were reviewed involving 233 patients and 432 CLNM cases.

Background And Purpose: Radiation-induced hypothyroidism (RIHT) is a late complication of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). We evaluated thyroid protection in NPC patients receiving IMRT using modified delineation (MD) of cervical lymphatic drainage areas, sparing the common carotid artery within the clinical target volume (CTV), to assess its impact on thyroid function and survival outcomes.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients without metastatic lymph nodes at levels III and IV who received neck irradiation.
