Objectives: To evaluate the quality of radiomics research in prostate MRI for the evaluation of prostate cancer (PCa) through the assessment of METhodological RadiomICs (METRICS) score, a new scoring tool recently introduced with the goal of fostering further improvement in radiomics and machine learning methodology.

Materials And Methods: A literature search was conducted from July 1st, 2019, to November 30th, 2023, to identify original investigations assessing MRI-based radiomics in the setting of PCa. Seven readers with varying expertise underwent a quality assessment using METRICS.

Background: Dixon-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) intramuscular proton density fat fraction (PDFF) is a potentially useful imaging biomarker of muscle quality. However, multi-vendor, multi-site reproducibility of intramuscular PDFF quantification, required for large clinical studies, can be strongly dependent on acquisition and processing. The purpose of this study was (I) to develop a 6-point Dixon MRI-based acquisition and processing technique for reproducible multi-vendor, multi-site quantification of thigh intramuscular PDFF; and (II) to evaluate the ability of the technique to detect differences in thigh muscle status between operated .

Structural MRI correlates of cognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms in Long COVID: a pilot study.

Front Psychiatry

December 2024

Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, United States.

Approximately 7% of COVID-19 patients (1.3% children) have exhibited symptoms of post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC), or Long COVID, and 20% of those present with neuropsychiatric symptoms. While a large number of MRI-based neuroimaging studies in this population have shown cortical atrophy in terms of gray matter volume and cortical thickness in patients, there is a growing body of work showing brain volume enlargements or thickness increases in patients compared to COVID negative controls.

Introduction: The Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) categorization has been proposed as a potential prognostic indicator for primary liver neoplasms in patients with liver cirrhosis or chronic hepatitis B. This multicenter study aimed to determine whether LI-RADS categorization can offer additional post-surgical prognostic value for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICCA) when used in conjunction with the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) guidelines.

Methods: Patients with high risk for hepatocellular carcinoma, surgically confirmed ICCAs, and available preoperative MRI were enrolled.
