A 75-year-old woman with a history of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) presented with isolate ocular symptoms, including a left scleral hematoma, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reactive protein (CRP). Initial evaluation combined with isolated ocular symptoms raised concerns for giant cell arteritis rather than an SLE flare. Thus, prompt initiation of high-dose intravenous methylprednisolone (250 mg every six hours) was warranted.

Introduction: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease presenting with remission and flares. Relapses may be triggered by various factors, with infections being one of the most common. The following case is the first clostridium difficile infection (CDI)-induced SLE flare that resulted in involvement of organs not previously affected in patient's history before, such as lupus nephritis.

In this case report, we present a 35-year-old homosexual man with advanced HIV disease and disseminated tuberculosis (TB) who developed paradoxical TB immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS). Corticosteroids, vital in life-threatening IRIS, were initiated, resulting in symptom resolution but unmasking AIDS-associated Kaposi's sarcoma (KS). Diagnostic confirmation revealed disseminated KS, necessitating a comprehensive therapeutic strategy involving chemotherapy and thalidomide as a steroid-sparing agent.

Pregnancy with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) requires special attention in view of the enhanced risks to the fetus and the aggravation of SLE during pregnancy. Human immunodeficiency virus infection can further complicate the course of pregnancy as well as the outcome. We present a case of a 28-year-old primigravida who was diagnosed case of people living with HIV/AIDS and presented with SLE at 34 weeks of gestation.
