This article describes a lethal case of leptospirosis that occurred in Southern Russia. The strain was isolated and characterized using a microscopic agglutination test, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, targeted PCR, and high-throughput sequencing. We show that molecular and mass-spectrometry methods can be an alternative to conventional methods of leptospirosis diagnostics and study, which require highly qualified staff and can be performed only at specialized laboratories. We also report the first whole genome of . isolated in Russia.

State Key Lab for Biology of Plant Diseases and Insect Pests, Key Lab of Invasive Alien Species Control of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing, China.

Climate warming is affecting the ranges and population dynamics of invasive species, including insects, which have become a global problem, causing biodiversity declines and agricultural economic losses. Anthonomus eugenii as an important invasive pest on pepper is now mainly located in the USA and Mexico. However, the global potential geographic distribution (PGD) of A.

Nanoscale Titanium Oxide Memristive Structures for Neuromorphic Applications: Atomic Force Anodization Techniques, Modeling, Chemical Composition, and Resistive Switching Properties.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

January 2025

Research Laboratory Neuroelectronics and Memristive Nanomaterials (NEUROMENA Lab), Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Electronic Equipment Engineering, Southern Federal University, Taganrog 347922, Russia.

This paper presents the results of a study on the formation of nanostructures of electrochemical titanium oxide for neuromorphic applications. Three anodization synthesis techniques were considered to allow the formation of structures with different sizes and productivity: nanodot, lateral, and imprint. The mathematical model allowed us to calculate the processes of oxygen ion transfer to the reaction zone; the growth of the nanostructure due to the oxidation of the titanium film; and the formation of TiO, TiO, and TiO oxides in the volume of the growing nanostructure and the redistribution of oxygen vacancies and conduction channel.

Background: Tshernyshev, 2009 is a small genus belonging to the tribe Malachiini in the family Malachiidae of the order Coleoptera, with six currently known species: (Erichson, 1840) from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and North Africa; (Abeille de Perrin, 1885) from Central Europe to Central Asia; Ezzatpanah, 2011 from Iran; (Tshernyshev, 2000) from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan; (Medvedev, 1964) from Kazakstan, Russia and Mongolia; (Medvedev, 1964) from Kazakhstan and Turkey.

New Information: In this study, Tshernyshev, 2009 is newly recorded from China upon the discovery of (Medvedev, 1964) from Xinjiang Autonomous Region. The adult morphological characters are re-described in detail with illustrations of external appearance and relevant characters.
