The aim of the study was to estimate the risks of different symptoms after the exposure to indoor air dampness microbiota (DM). This cross-sectional retrospective cohort-based study compared morbidity risks in DM exposed (n = 116) vs. unexposed cohort (n = 45). Gender-adjusted log-binomial regression models were used to calculate risk ratios (RR). The analysis of indoor dust toxicity was based on the inhibition of the motion of boar spermatozoa . Conventional microbiological work-up was performed in an accredited laboratory. Compared to the unexposed cohort, the study cohort had statistically significant (p < 0.05) risks to develop symptoms of the central nervous system RR = 2.85 (95% CI 1.19-6.85), fatigue RR = 2.82 (1.55-5.11), Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) RR = 2.81 (1.06-7.46), cardiac arrhythmia RR = 9.58 (1.33-68.81) and respiratory symptoms RR = 2.66 (1.58-4.48). The results of this study corroborate our earlier findings that toxic indoor air may cause a plethora of neurological symptoms. Higher than in the control group the prevalence of MCS associated with the exposure to DM. Bad indoor air is therefore not only a risk for respiratory problems and asthma but should be viewed broader as a systemic biotoxicosis. Therefore, psychologization of this disorder without mentioning the underlying insulting mechanisms should be discouraged.

Background And Aims Of The Study: Fluctuations in environmental temperature and humidity significantly affect human physiology and disease manifestation. In the Lingnan region of China, high summer temperatures and humidity often cause symptoms like diminished appetite, sticky tongue coating, sticky stool, unsatisfactory defecation, lethargy, and joint heaviness. These are referred to as "Dampness Syndrome" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Background: Metabolic syndrome (MS) refers to a cluster of metabolic disorders characterized by systemic chronic inflammation. Er Miao San (EMS) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine compound containing Phellodendron amurense and Atractylodis rhizome at a ratio of 1:1, proven to be effective against inflammatory diseases in clinical practice. Nevertheless, the precise functions of EMS in treating MS and its underlying mechanism have yet to be elucidated.

Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic non-specific inflammatory intestinal disease, categoried under "dysentery" and "intestinal bleeding" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Jianpi Qingchang decoction (JPQC) is a combination formula specifically designed for the treatment of UC. The primary objective of this study is to examine the clinical efficacy of JPQC in individuals diagnosed with UC who exhibit both spleen deficiency and dampness-heat syndrome, along with the presence of fatigue.

Introduction: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic intestinal disease characterized by spleen-lung qi deficiency and dampness-pathogenic obstruction. Although there are various treatment options available, patients frequently encounter significant drug-related side effects. Previous studies have shown the potential of A (CPA) in treating UC, but their limited bioavailability has restricted their clinical use.

Objective: To evaluate the indicators of an animal model of gouty arthritis (GA) with dampness heat accumulation and the intervention effect of Tongfeng Qingxiao formula (, TFQXF).
Methods: Seventy-two healthy adult Sprague?Dawley male rats were selected and randomly divided into a normal group, model group, low-dose group, medium-dose group, high-dose group, and diclofenac group using a random number table method, with 12 rats in each group. After group intervention, the general condition of the rats in each group was monitored and recorded, and the swelling index was measured.
