The suppression of density fluctuations at different length scales is the hallmark of hyperuniformity. Here, we explore the presence of this hidden order in a manybody interacting model of biological tissue, known to exhibit a transition, or sharp crossover, from a solid to a fluid like phase. We show that the density fluctuations in the rigid phase are only suppressed up to a finite lengthscale. This length scale monotonically increases and grows rapidly as we approach the fluid phase reminiscent to divergent behavior at a critical point, such that the system is effectively hyperuniform in the fluid phase. Furthermore, complementary behavior of the structure factor across the critical point also indicates that hyperuniformity found in the fluid phase is stealthy.

Eravacycline is a broad-spectrum fluorocycline currently approved for complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAIs). In lung-infection models, it is effective against methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and tetracycline-resistant MRSA. As such, we aimed to develop a population pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) model to evaluate eravacycline's pulmonary distribution and kinetics.

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) and CO-based geothermal energy are promising technologies for reducing CO emissions and mitigating climate change. Safe implementation of these technologies requires an understanding of how CO interacts with fluids and rocks at depth, particularly under elevated pressure and temperature. While CO-bearing aqueous solutions in geological reservoirs have been extensively studied, the chemical behavior of water-bearing supercritical CO remains largely overlooked by academics and practitioners alike.

Accurately predicting the phase behavior and properties of reservoir fluid plays an essential role in the simulation of petroleum recovery processes. Similar to the inaccurate liquid-density prediction issue in the isobaric-isothermal (PT) phase equilibrium calculations, an inaccurate pressure prediction issue can also be observed in isothermal-isochoric (VT) phase equilibrium calculations which involves a liquid phase. In this work, a practical methodology is proposed to incorporate a volume-translated equation of state in VT phase equilibrium calculations for more accurate pressure predictions.

Purpose Of Review: This review aims to summarize the histological differences among thrombi in acute myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, venous thromboembolism, and amniotic fluid embolism, a newly identified thrombosis.
Recent Findings: Acute coronary thrombi have a small size, are enriched in platelets and fibrin, and show the presence of fibrin and von Willebrand factor, but not collagen, at plaque rupture sites. Symptomatic deep vein thrombi are large and exhibit various phases of time-dependent histological changes.
