a rapid and simple liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the determination of cannabidiol (CBD) and Δ-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) using a QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) clean-up for a variety of foods and dietary supplements (DS). QuEChERS is widely used in extraction or clean-up procedures to eliminate interference of matrices such as sugars, organic acids, lipids, and fatty acids. The samples were categorised into three types, and various pretreatment methods were compared for each type. In all types, the QuEChERS was superior and selected as the final pretreatment method. The optimised method was validated for specificity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), linearity, recovery, precision and accuracy. All of the validation results met the requirements of the international guidelines for all types of samples. The validated method was applied to 30 commercial food samples, CBD was detected in 17 samples, with 2 of them detected below the LOQ level and the rest detected in a range of 70 μg/kg to 31305 mg/kg (3.1%, ). Meanwhile, THC was detected in 14 samples; 2 of them were detected below the LOQ level and the rest detected in a 0.08-98.62 μg/g range. These results indicated that the validated method can be successfully applied for the determination of cannabinoids in a variety of samples. Furthermore, it will be useful for controlling the illegal distribution of cannabinoids.

Background: Obesity is a rising risk factor for various diseases including cardiovascular diseases and Cancer. The limitations of targeted obesity-treatment approaches employed in the clinic presently underscore the importance of developing integrative management strategies for identification of specific biomarkers of obesity.
Objectives: Given the specificity of exosome/extracellular vesicle (EV) biomarkers, we aimed here to identify the EV biomarkers of Ayurveda treatment - Lekhana Basti - for Obesity.

Atherosclerosis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide; in Israel, ischemic heart disease is the second leading cause of death for both genders aged 45 and above. Atherosclerosis involves stiffening of the arteries due to the accumulation of lipids and oxidized lipids on the blood vessel walls, triggering the development of artery plaque. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common manifestation of atherosclerosis.

Background: Research into oxidative stress, cancer, and natural products revealed promising avenues for therapeutic intervention. Natural products are considered potent pharmaceuticals in combating oxidative stress and its relationship with cancer.
Methods: This study was carried out to evaluate the chemical profile and antioxidant activities using DPPH, ABTS, Phenanthroline, Cupric, Phosphomolybdenum, FRAP, Hydroxyl, Iron chelation in vitro assays, and anticancer properties by MTT method of Cistus creticus extracts.

This study employed QuEChERS extraction method combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to analyse honey samples from Albania for nitroimidazole residues. This approach allowed for the detection of trace-level residues, achieving sensitivity in the parts per billion range. Out of the 45 honey samples analysed, 6 exceeded the European Union's safety limit of 1 µg/kg, with metronidazole (MNZ) and dimetridazole (DMZ) being the predominant contaminants.

Several decades have passed since the description of the first patient with primary aldosteronism (PA). PA was initially classified in two main forms: aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) and idiopathic hyperaldosteronism (IHA). However, the pathogenesis of PA has now been shown to be far more complex.
