To investigate the effects of HS on mitochondrial functions under low temperature stress, we analyzed the effects of 0.05 mmol·L NaHS and 15 μmmol·L HT (hypotaurine and HS scavenger) on mitochondria antioxidant enzyme activities and mitochondrial permeability transition pore, mitochondrial membrane fluidity, mitochondrial membrane potential, Cyt c/a ratio and H-ATPase activity in sweet cherry stigma and ovary with sweet cherry variety Zaodaguo under -2 ℃ low temperature stress. The results showed that low temperature stress increased the concentrations of mitochondrial HO and MDA, enhanced the mitochondrial membrane permeability, but decreased the mitochondrial membrane fluidity, membrane potential, Cyt c/a and H-ATPase acti-vity. Application of NaHS at 0.05 mmol·L could effectively reduce the concentrations of HO and MDA, and keep higher activities of SOD, POD and CAT of mitochondrial for longer time. Furthermore, application of 0.05 mmol·L NaHS could decrease mitochondrial membrane permeability while increase mitochondrial membrane fluidity, membrane potential, Cyt c/a and H-ATPase activity in stigma and ovary under low temperature stress. The effects of NaHS were completely offset by HT addition. The results suggested that exogenous HS could alleviate the oxidative damage on stigma and ovary stress through decreasing HO accumulation, regulating mitochondria antioxidant system, increasing H-ATPase activity, and mitigating mitochondria function under low temperature.

During maritime operations, extreme events such as explosions, grounding, and seal failures can cause water ingress into lubricant compartments, forming oil-water emulsions that significantly affect the lubrication performance of ship stern bearings. Existing studies mainly focus on low water content, with limited exploration of the impact of high water content on lubrication performance. To address this gap, viscosity measurements of oil-water mixtures were conducted, and an emulsification viscosity equation applicable to varying water contents was derived.

The world is moving towards the utilization of hydrogen vehicle technology because its advantages are uniformity in power production, more efficiency, and high durability when compared to fossil fuels. So, in this work, the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Stack (PEMFS) device is selected for producing the energy for the hydrogen vehicle. The merits of this fuel technology are the possibility of operating less source temperature, and more suitability for stationery and transportation applications.

The welding of titanium alloys is an important topic in today's industrial field, and the interaction between the solder and the base material is crucial for the quality of the welded parts. The structural, elastic, electronic, and thermal properties of Ti-Al-Me (Me = Cu, Fe and Ni) alloys (TAMs) with the face-centered cubic structures were investigated using plane-wave pseudo potential method in the framework of density functional theory. Based on the calculated elastic constants combined with empirical and semi-empirical formulas, physical properties including ductility/brittleness, hardness and anisotropy were calculated.

Very high heat is generated during the polymerization of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) bone cement, which is used for implant fixation in orthopedic surgery. As such, it has been suggested that irrigating the bone cement layer in the surgical site with a saline solution is a way of cooling the layer. In this study, we aimed to determine the influence of irrigation with a saline solution on the flexural strength and the microstructure of the test specimens of two PMMA bone cement brands: Simplex P and FIX 1.

Cold stress, a major abiotic factor, positively modulates the synthesis of artemisinin in Artemisia annua and influences the biosynthesis of other secondary metabolites. To elucidate the changes in the synthesis of secondary metabolites under low-temperature conditions, we conducted dynamic transcriptomic and metabolite quantification analyses of A. annua leaves.
