Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are abnormal connections of arteries and veins without intermediate capillary components. As such, AVMs can remain asymptomatic or have a variety of clinical presentations ranging from mild headaches to severe symptoms like seizures, hemorrhage, and subsequent coma. Papilledema and increased intracranial pressure without hydrocephalus or hemorrhage are rare forms of presentations of cerebral AVM.

Purpose: Peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structures (PHOMS) have been recently described on optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans of the optic nerve. We aim to determine if there is a causal relationship between OCT measurements of the optic disc area (DA), scleral canal diameter (SCD) and refractive error (spherical equivalent, SE) on the presence of PHOMS.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of OCT scans which were graded for the presence or absence of PHOMS in children with suspected papilledema was undertaken.

Acute leukemia is a hematological malignancy affecting different organ systems including the eye and orbit through direct infiltration of tissues or secondary to hematological abnormalities. Ophthalmological manifestations in acute leukemia are variable ranging from asymptomatic presentation to serious manifestations that can alter the disease course and treatment. The purpose of this study is to detect the incidence of different ophthalmological manifestations in newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients and to assess the relationship between ocular findings and hematological characteristics and the sequel of these neoplasms.

Background: Transverse sinus stenting (TSS) is an increasingly common treatment for patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). However, detailed neuro-ophthalmic evidence on visual and pharmacotherapy outcomes after TSS is scarce and heterogeneous. This study aimed to describe the visual outcomes of patients undergoing TSS for IIH and to ascertain the proportion of patients who could be weaned off intracranial pressure (ICP)-lowering medication postoperatively.
