The study aimed to assess the impact of dietary supplementation with tannic acid on the growth, health, and survival of Oreochromis niloticus following exposure to Aeromonas hydrophila. A total of 320 fish were divided into 16 tanks and assigned to four treatment groups: feed with 0.2 % tannic acid (TA), 0.

The presence of residues of antibiotics and heavy metals in the global aquatic environment is a widespread potential environmental risk. Here, we studied their effect on Xenopus tropicalis by analysing the hepatotoxic effects of norfloxacin (NOR), oxytetracycline (OTC), and arsenic (As) on its histology, lipidomics, proteases, and cytokines. The results showed that development was inhibited, and additional vacuolation, sinusoids, pyknosis, nuclei, cell lysis, and leukocyte infiltration were observed in the liver after 72 days of exposure to NOR (0.

The fine structure of fibroblasts, lymphocytes, neurosecretory cells, stem cells, and steroidogenic cells in the nematode Sphaerolaimus gracilis was studied by transmission electron microscopy. Fibroblasts, lymphocytes, and stem cells were found in the lateral position at the level of the renette pore (ventral pore). Fibroblasts were characterized by long cellular processes.

The role of neutrophils in host defense involves several cell processes including phagocytosis, degranulation of antimicrobial proteins, and the release of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). In turn, dysregulated cell activity is associated with the pathogenesis of airway and rheumatic diseases, in which neutrophil-derived enzymes including peptidyl-arginine deiminases (PADs) play a role. Known physiological functions of PADs in neutrophils are limited to the activity of PAD isotype 4 in histone citrullination in NET formation.

In this study, we examined the effects of experimental intraperitoneal infection with haemotropic (0.5 mL of blood containing 80% parasitaemia) on selected serum biomarkers and cellular pathology in mice. After infection, cells appeared in the blood films within one week.
