pLM4CPPs: Protein Language Model-Based Predictor for Cell Penetrating Peptides.

J Chem Inf Model

January 2025

Department of Grain Science and Industry, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas 66506, United States.

Cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) are short peptides capable of penetrating cell membranes, making them valuable for drug delivery and intracellular targeting. Accurate prediction of CPPs can streamline experimental validation in the lab. This study aims to assess pretrained protein language models (pLMs) for their effectiveness in representing CPPs and develop a reliable model for CPP classification.

The objective of this paper is to discuss the ways in which primitive aspects of the mind, in particular, the archaic elements of character, become manifest within the analytic field. After a review of the concept, it is proposed that a "normal" character manifests through memories in behaviours/feelings, which seek the object to satisfy their needs. The characterological structure keeps primitive traumatic inscriptions under control.

Anti-NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor encephalitis (ANRE) is a rare autoimmune condition targeting brain receptors, often linked to ovarian tumors in young women. In severe cases, it can lead to status epilepticus, but in sporadic cases, it may progress to super-refractory status epilepticus (SRSE), a dangerous state of continuous or repetitive seizures demanding urgent medical attention that continues or recurs more than 24 hours after the initiation of anesthetic therapy. We present a case report of anti-NMDA receptor limbic encephalitis-triggered SRSE terminated with vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) and titrated to high stimulation parameters in the immediate postoperative period.

Nepal's economy is primarily dependent on agriculture, which generates a significant amount of GDP and jobs, particularly in rural areas. Despite its importance, the business still faces challenges from low productivity, traditional methods, inadequate access to advanced technologies, and increasing climate change sensitivity. These problems prevent agriculture from realizing its full potential to advance economic development, reduce poverty, and provide food security.
