We revisited the phase diagram of the second layer of ^{4}He on top of graphite using quantum Monte Carlo methods. Our aim was to explore the existence of the novel phases suggested recently in experimental works, and determine their properties and stability limits. We found evidence of a superfluid quantum phase with hexatic correlations, induced by the corrugation of the first Helium layer, and a quasi-two-dimensional supersolid corresponding to a 7/12 registered phase. The 4/7 commensurate solid was found to be unstable, while the triangular incommensurate crystals, stable at large densities, were normal.

The main obstacle to large scale quantum computing are the errors present in every physical qubit realization. Correcting these errors requires a large number of additional qubits. Two main avenues to reduce this overhead are (i) low-density parity check (LDPC) codes requiring very few additional qubits to correct errors (ii) cat qubits where bit-flip errors are exponentially suppressed by design.

They have the same membrane composition and characteristics as primitive cells, which enables them to penetrate cells and tissues efficiently. These OMVs exhibit excellent membrane stability, immunogenicity, safety, and permeability (which makes it easier for them to penetrate into tumour tissue), making them suitable for developing cancer vaccines and drug delivery systems.

A signal-processing algorithm for the detailed determination of delamination in multilayer structures is proposed in this work. The algorithm is based on calculating the phase velocity of the Lamb wave A mode and estimating this velocity dispersion. Both simulation and experimental studies were conducted to validate the proposed technique.

Induction motors are essential components in industry due to their efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This study presents an innovative methodology for automatic fault detection by analyzing images generated from the Fourier spectra of current signals using deep learning techniques. A new preprocessing technique incorporating a distinctive background to enhance spectral feature learning is proposed, enabling the detection of four types of faults: healthy motor coupled to a generator with a broken bar (HGB), broken rotor bar (BRB), race bearing fault (RBF), and bearing ball fault (BBF).

This paper introduces RWA-BFT, a reputation-weighted asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus algorithm designed to address the scalability and performance challenges of blockchain systems in large-scale IoT scenarios. Traditional centralized IoT architectures often face issues such as single points of failure and insufficient reliability, while blockchain, with its decentralized and tamper-resistant properties, offers a promising solution. However, existing blockchain consensus mechanisms struggle to meet the high throughput, low latency, and scalability demands of IoT applications.
