Published: March 2020

As new specialties emerge in medicine, certification pathways must be defined and formalized. The Lifestyle Medicine Physician certification, including both experiential and educational pathways, have been in place for several years. Although raising competence across all specialties through the Lifestyle Medicine Physician Diplomates to a foundational level is essential, additional expertise must be attained to be a true Lifestyle Medicine Specialist as outlined by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) is a dynamic tissue that affects vascular function and cardiovascular health. The connection between PVAT, the immune system, obesity, and vascular disease is complex and plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, and vascular inflammation. In cardiometabolic diseases, PVAT becomes a significant source of proflammatory adipokines, leading to increased infiltration of immune cells, in cardiometabolic diseases, PVAT becomes a significant source of proinflammatory adipokines, leading to increased infiltration of immune cells, promoting vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and migrationpromoting vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study involving a sample of 866 women who underwent various laparoscopic procedures for different indications at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jordan University Hospital and Al-Karak Governmental Hospital, two tertiary referral hospitals in Jordan between January 2015 and March 2023.

Canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) and feline atopic skin syndrome are inflammatory and pruritic skin diseases with both environmental and genetic factors. Genetic factors may include barrier defects and a predisposition to mount T helper 2 lymphocyte immune response when allergens are encountered. These diseases have repeatable patterns of skin and ear inflammation and commonly lead to Staphylococcal and Malassezia skin and ear infections.

Background: Sedentary behaviour (SB) is detrimental to cardiometabolic disease (CMD) risk, which can begin in young adulthood. To devise effective SB-CMD interventions in young adults, it is important to understand which context-specific SB (CS-SB) are most detrimental for CMD risk, the lifestyle behaviours that cluster with CS-SBs and the socioecological predictors of CS-SB.

Methods And Analysis: This longitudinal observational study will recruit 500 college-aged (18-24 years) individuals.
