For several years, environmental exogenous agents, called endocrine disruptors, are suspected to interfere with the essential functions of reproduction and development in many living organisms. In this study, endocrine disruptors including five phthalates and two bisphenols contents in finished products were assayed and their estrogenic activity were measured by using the Yeast Estrogen Screen system with respect to human and trout estrogen receptors hERα and rtER. Independently of the estrogen receptor, only short-chain phthalates (DBP and BBP) and the two bisphenols exhibited an estrogenic activity. Besides, the risk of three end-products (agro-food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical) was evaluated before and after forced aging. Only two cosmetics the face cream and the perfume presented a hazard which increases with aging. These results are consistent with the compounds identified by Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. These findings confirmed that the YES system can be routinely used to evaluate the estrogenic hazards within finished products.

Department of Oncology, The First Affiliated Hospital, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, No. 17 Yongwaizheng Street, Nanchang, 330006, Jiangxi Province, China.

The benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy (CT) for hormone receptor-negative T1a and T1bN0M0 breast cancer remains uncertain. Our study was to explore prognostic value and identify candidates of adjuvant CT for these patients. The data of hormone receptor-negative T1a and T1bN0M0 breast cancer patients were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database from 2010 to 2015.

Background: To date, the overall survival (OS) of hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer (ABC) treated with palbociclib has not been reported in Chinese patients. It still remains unclear what kind of patients may benefit in OS from palbociclib treatment and what the optimal sequential antineoplastic regimen is for those progressing on palbociclib. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the OS outcome of ABC patients receiving palbociclib, establish a predictive model to identify the potential candidates who may benefit from palbociclib and explore the ideal subsequent treatment strategy after palbociclib.

Lerociclib (GB491), a highly selective oral CDK4/6 inhibitor, has displayed anti-tumor activity and differentiated safety and tolerability profile in previous ph1/2 clinical trials. The LEONARDA-1, a randomized, double-blind, phase III study, was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lerociclib in HR+/HER2- locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer patients, who had relapsed or progressed on prior endocrine therapy. A total of 275 patients were randomized at 1:1 ratio to receive lerociclib (137 patients, 150 mg twice daily) or placebo (138 patients) plus fulvestrant.

Background: Adverse events in childhood are linked to cancer risk across the life course, but evidence is lacking regarding parental death during childhood and breast cancer (BrCa) characteristics. We investigated whether parental loss in childhood defines women at higher risk of BrCa incidence and aggressive disease.

Methods: The Child Health and Development Studies (CHDS) comprises over 15,000 families who enrolled during mothers' pregnancies between 1959-1967; family members were followed for cancer incidence and cause-specific mortality.

Male breast cancer (MBC) is rare, and due to the absence of male-specific screening programs, many patients are diagnosed at advanced stages and older ages. This study aims to analyze the long-term trend of MBC incidence and develop a competing risk model to improve survival rates. MBC data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database (1975-2019) were analyzed using the Age-Period-Cohort (APC) model to examine trends in age, period, and birth cohort effects of MBC incidence.
