Purpose: Free Open Access Medical Education (FOAMed) is an emergent phenomenon within medical education. The rise of FOAMed resources has meant that medical education needs no longer be confined to the lecture theatre or the hospital setting, but rather, can be produced and shared amongst any individual or group with access to internet and a suitable device. This study presents a review of the use of FOAMed resources by students as part of their university medical education.

Background: The deficiencies in the training of psychiatric residents in Isfahan, including the segregation of residency programs by year, the confinement of training to hospital departments, and the residents' limited exposure to the perspectives of other faculty members, had not been given significant attention. However, the inevitable alterations in the Department of Psychiatry and the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic have brought these issues to the forefront, highlighting the need for program modifications. The objective of this study is to enhance the quality of psychiatric residency training by changing the implementation of the curriculum.

T cell responses play an important role in viral clearance and prevention of infection. Here, we present a protocol to detect severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-specific T cell responses using spectral flow cytometry. We describe steps for peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) thawing and stimulation with SARS-CoV-2 spike peptide pools.

Background: Despite growing evidence of reduced invasive and non-invasive pneumococcal disease attributed to public health measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, the effect of these measures on pneumococcal carriage remains unclear. This study aimed to assess pneumococcal nasopharyngeal carriage among children and adults self-confined at home during the COVID-19 national lockdown in Spain while identifying predictors of pneumococcal carriage in children.
Methods: Household study conducted across the metropolitan area of Barcelona (Spain) between April-June 2020.
