Waste slurry, a major by-product of urban construction, is produced in rapidly increasing volumes each year. Dehydrated waste slurry has potential as a roadbed material; however, its performance in freeze-thaw environments, which can induce frost heave and thaw settlement, and the mechanism of the influence of freeze-thaw cycles on its macro and micro properties are still unclear and need thorough investigation. This study explores the macroscopic and microscopic properties of waste slurry subjected to freeze-thaw cycles.

In this study, a probabilistic model within the dislotwin constitutive framework of DAMASK (the Düsseldorf Advanced Material Simulation Kit) was established to describe the cyclic loading behaviors of AZ31B magnesium alloys. Considering the detwinning procedure within the twinned region, this newly developed dislocation-twinning-detwinning model was employed to accurately simulate stress-strain behaviors of AZ31B magnesium alloys throughout tension-compression-tension (T-C-T) cycle loading. The investigations revealed that the reduction in yield stress during the reverse loading process was attributed to the active operation of twinning and detwinning modes.

Clear cell kidney cancers are characterized both by conserved oncogenic driver events and by marked intratumor genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity, which help drive tumor progression, metastasis, and resistance to therapy. How these are reflected in transcriptional programs within the cancer and stromal cell components remains an important question with the potential to drive novel therapeutic approaches to treating cancer. To better understand these programs, we perform single-cell transcriptomics on 75 multi-regional biopsies from kidney tumors and normal kidney.

Plants host a range of DNA elements capable of self-replication. These molecules, usually associated to the activity of transposable elements or viruses, are found integrated in the genome or in the form of extrachromosomal DNA. The activity of these elements can impact genome plasticity by a variety of mechanisms, including the generation of structural variants, the shuffling of regulatory or coding DNA sequences across the genome, and DNA endoduplication.

Epidemiological studies combining taxonomic and clinical data have been limited globally, particularly Guiyang, the most under-developed economic provincial capital city in southwestern China. A retrospective analysis was performed of dermatophyte epidemiology involving all culture-positive cases received between May 2017 and May 2023 at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted on 391 dermatophyte isolates collected from patients using the rDNA internal transcribed spacer sequences.
