Objective: To evaluate and compare the objective and subjective outcomes after the bilateral implantation of a diffractive bifocal and trifocal intraocular lens.
Methods: This is a case-control, single-center observational study which included 27 patients; 16 patients were implanted bilaterally with the bifocal AcrySof IQ ReSTOR+3.0D and 11 patients with the trifocal AT LISA tri 839MP. Uncorrected visual acuity at distance, intermediate, and near under mesopic and photopic conditions using ETDRS charts with 10% and 100% contrast, corrected distance visual acuity, and binocular defocus curve in photopic conditions; binocular contrast sensitivity under mesopic and photopic conditions for far and near distances were assessed. The Visual Function Questionnaire-25 questionnaire was used to assess patients' satisfaction. All the measurements were performed 6-24 months after cataract surgery.
Results: The ReSTOR group had better binocular uncorrected near visual acuity in photopic conditions with low and high contrast charts ( = 0.040 and = 0.033, respectively), as well as in far contrast sensitivity measurement under mesopic conditions with a spatial frequency of 3 cycles per degree ( = 0.034). There was not a significant difference between the two study groups in uncorrected near, intermediate or distance vision under mesopic conditions. The AT LISA tri study group had better subjective outcomes.
Conclusion: Both intraocular lenses restore visual acuity after cataract surgery. The ReSTOR intraocular lens provides better objective outcomes than the AT LISA tri, although the latter provides better subjective outcomes. The relevance of this study is the evaluation of both objective and subjective outcomes.

Background: Morbidity and mortality rates are notably higher among individuals with severe mental illnesses (SMI). People with SMI often have lower access to healthcare services, and the medical care they receive is known to be suboptimal. Consequently, treatment in an acute care setting rather than a community setting is more common.

Background: There is a lack of evidence and continuous debate on whether femoral tunnel displacement substantially influences the clinical efficacy of medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFL-R) in addressing recurrent patellar dislocation.
Purpose: To investigate possible associations between inaccurate femoral tunnel placement during MPFL-R and clinical outcomes, with a specific focus on proximal tunnel malpositioning.
Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3.

Background: Interviewers' judgements play a critical role in competency-based assessments for selection such as the multiple-mini-interview (MMI). Much of the published research focuses on the psychometrics of selection and the impact of rater subjectivity. Within the context of selecting for entry into specialty postgraduate training, we used an interpretivist and socio-constructivist approach to explore how and why interviewers make judgments in high stakes selection settings whilst taking part in an MMI.

Background: The promotion of healthy dietary behaviors in adolescence is critical, which have long-term implications for lifelong health. Integration is an important method for improving limited theories of dietary behavior change. The present study proposes an integrated model aimed at identifying the diverse determinants of healthy dietary behaviors in adolescents and assesses its stage-specific nature as the potential for effective interventions.

Introduction: Mental fatigue, a psychobiological state induced by prolonged and sustained cognitive tasks, impairs both cognitive and physical performance. Several studies have investigated strategies to counteract mental fatigue. However, potential health risks and contextual restrictions often limit these strategies, which hinder their practical application.
