Background: Estrogen is thought to be the reason for the higher prevalence of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) in fertile women; however, more study is required to completely comprehend how estrogen affects PTC development at the cellular level. Therefore, we combined Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing to explore molecular markers of PTC and to investigate the molecular mechanisms by which estrogen promotes PTC development.
Methods: The expression levels of ESR1 (ERα) and KRT19 in normal thyroid tissues and cancer tissues as well as in different cancer stages, races, genders, age groups, histological subtypes and nodular metastasis status of the TCGA database were analyzed online by Ualcan; the relationship between ESR1, KRT19 and the survival of THCA patients was analyzed.

Background: Pigmented villous nodular synovitis (PVNS) is a tumor-like proliferative disease characterized by impairment of daily activities, decreased quality of life, and a high recurrence rate. However, the specific pathological mechanisms are still ill-defined and controversial. The purpose of this study was to define potential diagnostic markers and evaluate immune cell infiltration in the pathogenesis of PVNS.

Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common skin cancer in the general population. Treatments vary from Mohs surgery to topical therapy, depending on the subtype. Dermoscopy, reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) have gained a foothold in daily clinical practice to optimize diagnosis and subtype-oriented treatment.

Background: Nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL) is a distinct and rare subtype of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) that can be differentially diagnosed from classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). Because of its low prevalence rate and undefined pathogenic mechanisms, a specific treatment for NLPHL has yet to be determined. In NLPHL, which is a malignant B-cell lymphoma, antigen stimulation results in the formation of germinal centers by secondary lymphoid follicles, which promotes the differentiation of germinal center B cells (GCBs) into long-lived plasma cells and memory B cells.
