Three series of the β-pyrimidine alanines, including willardiine - a naturally occurring amino acid, were prepared from the l-serine-derived sulfamidates. Compounds 3b, 4a and 4b demonstrated antiproliferative activity toward the studied cancer cell lines, albeit the effect of these compounds on human brain astrocytoma MOG-G-CCM cells was more significant than on human neuroblastoma SK-N-AS cells. The cytosine analog of willardiine, compound 4b, reduced viability of MOG-G-CCM cells with EC = 36 ± 2 μM, more effectively than AMPA antagonist GYKI 52466. Willardiine showed possible capability of affecting invasiveness of glioblastoma U251 MG cells with no effect on their viability and morphology. Compound 3d, the ethyl ester of willardiine, featured activity toward binding domain hHS1S2I of the GluR2 receptor. Docking analysis revealed that the location mode of compound 3d at the S1S2 domain of hGluR2 (PDB ID: 3R7X) might differ from that of willardiine.

Aim: To compare the respective clinical and pathologic features of antimitochondrial antibodies-negative (AMA-negative) primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) and cholestatic type drug-induced liver injury (DILI) for clinical differential diagnosis.
Patients And Methods: Clinical data from 23 patients with AMA-negative PBC and 39 patients with cholestatic type DILI, treated at our hospital between January 2013 and January 2024, were collected and retrospectively analyzed.
Results: The cholestatic type DILI group exhibited a higher incidence of malaise and abdominal pain compared with the AMA-negative PBC group.

Hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives are a class of phenolic acid compounds, including sinapic acid, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid, which are widely found in plants. This experiment was conducted to study the effects of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives (sinapic acid, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid) on the growth performance, muscle physical parameters, and intestinal morphology of tilapia. A total of 320 tilapia fingerlings (9.

Sustainable agriculture approaches necessitate a concerted effort from researchers to establish paths that meet global population needs without compromising environmental resources. Goats are unique among ruminants because of their ability to adapt to some of the harshest environments around the world. Growth Hormone (GH) gene is a major regulator of muscle mass growth.

Unlabelled: Among the restrictive eating and eating disorders, anorexia nervosa (AN) and atypical anorexia nervosa (AAN) are the ones that present the greatest medical complications.
Objective: Describe the characteristics of patients with AN and AAN and their differences in demographic and clinical parameters.
Patients And Method: The records of patients <19 years of age with AN admitted to Clinica Santa María between 2013 and 2019 were reviewed.

Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) is becoming a valuable technique in gas-phase structural biology for identifying local structural motifs and conformations of biological molecules, such as peptides and proteins. This method involves labeling the biomolecule with two dyes, a donor dye and an acceptor dye, that are commonly charged rhodamines. Here we examine how different amino acid (AA) methyl esters linked to the dye via amide linkages can influence the dye transition energy and, consequently, the energy-transfer efficiency, using cryogenic ion fluorescence spectroscopy.
