Background: Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) is a severe and potentially life-threatening complication in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), significantly affecting prognosis during hospitalization. Early identification of high-risk patients is essential to reduce complications, improve outcomes, and guide clinical decision-making.

Objective: This study aimed to develop and validate a machine learning (ML)-based model for predicting in-hospital GIB in patients with AMI, identify key risk factors, and evaluate the clinical applicability of the model for risk stratification and decision support.

Integration of Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice Into Prelicensure Nursing Curricula: Preparing Nursing Students for Cardiac Arrest Care.

Nurse Educ

January 2025

Authors Affiliations: Department of Biobehavioral Nursing Science (Drs Castro, Stephens, and Vanderzwan), Department of Human Development Nursing Science (Ms Ortiz), College of Nursing, University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, IL.

Background: Nursing students are not consistently trained on how to care for patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. In rapid cycle deliberate practice (RCDP), learners perform a simulation with micro-debriefs interjected by the instructor.

Problem: RCDP has been used to train health care students on how to respond during a sudden cardiac arrest, but its application to prelicensure nursing students is underreported.

Nigeria initiated the reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent, elderly + nutrition (RMNCAEH+N) quality of care (QoC) agenda to address the challenge. The health management information system (HMIS) is integral to the agenda but there is sparse evidence on its performance so far.

This study was designed to explore the impact of intrinsic (breed of foal, age of dam, and age of foal at weaning) and extrinsic (season of birth and housing type) factors on the growth and survival of foals in the subtropical conditions of Pakistan. For the growth study, retrospective data analysis of foals (n = 150) born from purebred brood mares of Thoroughbred, Arabs, and Percheron breeds (n1, n2, and n3 = 50 each) was made. Six hundred and twenty-four (n = 624) foals born between 2020 to 2022 were observed for the study of foal survival rate.
